You knew life for four months without me, but I haven't known life for a minute without you. And as much as I tell you otherwise, I wouldn't want to know life for a second without you.
You were all but four months when I came along. And you immediately became the elder brother. When we were younger, you were the cuter one. The fatter, chubbier one. And whenever you tried to hug me, they told you to be careful with me. When we grew a little, you pulled my ponytail. I cried, and they told you to be careful with me. We grew up five houses apart, and started to play with the same group of people. They told you to look after me. I ended up joining the same school as you, and you were told to make sure I was safe. We continued to grow. And while they no longer asked you to look out for me, you couldn't stop.
When we were younger, we played this game called Tank. You could have played alone and won. But you played it with me all the time. Very obviously, I sucked at it. You were patient though. You sent tanks my way so I could kill them and killed any that came to kill me.
Skip a few years and we were over at our grandparent's home. I wanted to play some other game and the other kids wanted to play cricket. So they came up with a plan to make me the "denner" each time. You didn't let the. You wanted to play cricket too. But you would always rescue me and as much as possible avoided catching me.
I shifted to a co-ed school from an all girls school. The experience was scary to say the least. I was ready to give up on my first day itself. Ready to pack my bags and flee. But you came along and introduced me to everyone as your sister. I was never troubled after that. And whenever I had a hard time in school, you took care of the problem, and bought me chocolates and made me feel better.
You opened up this whole new world to me. The world of LP, of Football and cricket and sports, of a co-ed school, video games, kite flying. And I like how the family is your world.
And just so you know, you are a huge part of my world. <3
