Rotaract:-)

People tell me I should write more often. Sometimes I wish I had a smaller machine with the same size keyboard so my fingers could dance across it and my thoughts would flow into words. But I seem to be unable to do that now. At times, I see something. And I am writing in my head. But then I sit on the keyboard, I forget what it was that I wanted to write..
There is so much happening all the time, so many moments which may seem really trivial. But have so much life in them. We seem to take so much for granted. There is so much life in every moment. How do I capture it in words? For instance, being in the Rotaract has helped me realize exactly how much we take for granted. I think nothing about eating chocolates, even the really expensive ones which cost a bomb. After all, I am allowed to splurge once in a while. And sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I look at my timetable to see when my classes end so I can sleep. Sometimes I yell at people when they make me walk, or when they make me run around. Never before did I think of such small things. Until a discussion on our Rotaract facebook page made me thing. Given below are excerpts from the discussion we had about our best moment at the Rotaract.

I still can't forget the day...when we were doing the silver lining project.. the economics exam had just finished and I was standing out,was totally tired..waiting to get home and sleep ..and a blind kid's dad walked upto me and thanked us for helping his son out with the exams... at that moment..i realized all the running about was so totally worth it...
Ah..mine was definitely during the Kashmir refugee camp. I remember the call so vividly. Me, Akbar and Sruthi were at Mc Donalds in City Centre and were talking about how much we were willing to spend per plate for the District Conference. Imagine the irony when we had food from Mc D in our hand, discussing booking several plates of food when we get a call telling us how children are hungry, on 26th January. When I reached back, and discussed it, not one person said no to the idea, or that we spent too much. Ravi immediately jumped into action and booked the food and had it delivered that day itself. That was my best moment, and also the moment I felt honoured to be a part of this club, where people didn't think twice about helping people.
There was one more, when we went to spend time with kids at Aman Vedika and in the end they didn't want us to leave. They held on to us and asked if we would go back?. That was another special moment for me. A lot more.. I'll post them as I remember them. :)
Aman Vedika was an experience that is the most memorable for me so far. When the kids held onto us and made us promise that we will come back, it was truly heart-warming. Bringing joy to those kids created a bond which can never be broken:)
After the exam all the volunteers made it a point to thank us for giving them an opportunity to help the kids. :) Just watching them bond with the blind kids and seeing how happy it made them, made me so proud to be a part of this club...everyone appreciated what we did, i felt soo RICH...the feeling is unexplainable! Love My Rotaract :)
and the best moment for me was "the day we visited 'home for disabled' and were distributing chocolates !! one lady she asked for another..i gave her two..she asked for one more !1 i gave her some ten !! after that i walked thrice near by her and she kept staring at me !! i could sense frm her eyes-"she was thanking me"..oh my god almost i broke !!! thanks to ROTARACT for such an awesome exp:) ♥ !!
There is so much life in every moment guys- lets share it with the others. I know these are not life changing experiences for some, but for some they are. Such experiences definitely help us grow, give us a different way to think. We may not know it, or notice it. But someday, something will happens to help us realise just how fortunate we are, and what all we take for granted. I have experienced that moment. And I hope everyone does.
