my article

It has been a long time since I posted something. A really long time. But the good news is that two of my articles got published in the newspaper.
I don’t feel safe anymore in India. I am not talking about the terrorist attacks. I am talking about the “aam admi.” To understand why one would have to see the documentary Ram ke Naam. It talks about the period between 1949 and 1990 and the Yatra taken up by L.K Advani to Ayodhya to build the Ram Mandir. It had the opinions of people on whether the masjid should be demolished or the temple be built somewhere else. Surprisingly, those who were uneducated had a more rational outlook, and said that the temple and masjid could co-exist. It was the educated class who didn’t even know which century Lord Ram was born in but were willing to build a temple by demolishing a mosque.
I don’t feel safe in a country where the police move away when trouble comes, where politicians use religion to divide a nation, when the educated mis-use their education, and when the general public is misguided into believing lies.
I don’t feel safe in a country where the media doesn’t use their power to create harmony, where justice isn’t served.
Yes, I don’t feel safe anymore.

sorry... i just had to ask... which century was Lord Ram born in? I consider myself to be educated in the very least... but umm... I'm unsure as to when this event actually happened... do you know?

I always assumed Ramayana was a myth... you mean to say Ram was really there?

hey bhairav
i dont say tht he exists...it is said that he existed and he was born in ayodhya which i am sure you know actually exists. it is said that babar built a the babri masjid after demolishing the temple..although the priests of the temples there dont really agree that the temple existed at that very spot. I would like to believe that Lord Ram existed but the people especially the BJP just used him to gather vote banks. I really recommend you watch this documentary. You will really like it. Thanks for commenting.
