Questions unanswered
Its been a long time since I've written. Almost a month. However as the hours ticked away two incidents were clearly etched in my mind raising questions which I still have not been able to find answers for.On the 8th of January, my college fest called UWAH started. I was a volunteer. Our duties started at seven in the morning when I had to force myself to be polite to people who were used to getting up so early and end at eleven in night where I completely forgot that I was tired as we sat and discussed the days events. Our fest stretched over a week and every day we were given breakfast. The fest took place on 5 grounds. However since we were each allotted duties we quickly became friends with the stray dogs that used to roam about there. The dogs were really friendly and would come up to us, jumping and licking us all over even though we never had anything to give them. It was quite a break from all the selfish human beings who come up to you praise you and jump all over you only when you have something to give them. Seeing the colourful festivities we often had a few poor people, hawkers and roadside sellers standing at the gate watching us enjoy ourselves. One day was we were given breakfast I decided to give it to the dog who often made my day. I saved my breakfast while my friends hogged it like they had never seen food in their lives. The dog ran past us towards the gate. As I followed it is saw a young boy of about 5. He probably didn't eat proper food for days. The question is.....Should I have given the food to the dog or the young boy? My friends said that dogs were able to provide for themselves and I shouldn't worry. Yet I felt that many would give food to the boy and not to the dog(if such people existed). The second incident is one which my teacher told me about. She is a history teacher is a very famous institute in Mumbai and is a visiting faculty. She along with two teachers edited a book. A person picked up the first and last lines in a paragraph ignoring the rest of it. The first line mentioned Bhagat Singh and the last terrorist activities. The Shiv Sena party picking up on this created a hue and cry and treated these women like criminals. They insulted them in public and asked for an apology letter. However two of them managed to escape. Life was hell for months for them with newspapers picking up this. It took a long time for life to come back to normal. Why is it that all our politicians and political parties pick up on such small issues to show/pretend that they care about our country and how is it that we vote for them? When educated people like us believe the newspapers and the media without confirming, how is the illiterate segment going to react?

Not all humans are selfish. You're not. Try and feel better about this world! It really is beautiful.
Will talk to you sometime soon.
With love from Veena.
but before that let me cear something up... HOW THE HELL COULD YOU LET A STREET DOG LICK YOU???? GOD, WHAT IF IT HAD A DISEASE OR SOMETHING????
now back to the comment:
In all seriousness Tanvi, it was really foolish of you firstly to take your breakfast to the dogs... not only because the dogs don't deserve it, but you are so god damn thin... do you want to become matterless??? Dogs are friendly for their good and not for yours... Humans and animals are alike... i do partially agree with you when you said that people put on their nice face only when they want to get things off you, but dogs areno better...
Number two... think of five differences between a five year old homeless orphan and a street dog...
The second incident however i agree with, the Indian polotical Parties are even stupider than the offspring of an english and an american... and they are quite dumb btw...
Am sorry i haven't commented earlier, i was busy with a couple of matters... keep up the good work, i promise to comment more often...
